I have heard a lot of people rip on Associated shocks.

They are proven and work excellent, period.

I built my first pair of AE shocks in 1992, and though they were a tad bit more difficult to build, it was well worth it. I only rarely changed o-rings if and when the shocks leaked, which was rare.

As for the shocks, the ones in my 1992 RC10T are no different than the ones that are in my B3, T4 or B44. The internals are identical because they work and are proven. Just my.02

As for other shocks, the Kyosho shocks have been the easiest ones for me to build, though I am more familar with the associated ones.

Personally, I think AE should look into a better way to do the shocks. Just seems that other designs are easier to get right when rebuilding the shocks.

Here is my question:

Of the XXX-CR, RB5, and GV2, which seems to have more agressive steerings similar to the B4?

I am thinking of picking up another 2wd buggy, and for various reasons won't be doing AE.

The RB5 has all the steering of a B4 with the grip and jumping balance of the XXX-CR. Fast, easy to drive and a joy to work on .. what more could you want?????

My car is stock apart from Atomic Carbon shock towers at both ends (which I am not taking advantage of whilst running indoors for the winter)

Durability. Should have added that as well. But that is great about the handling characteristics of the vehicle.
