Default LRP Sphere #80500

I just bought an Orion 4800 MAH to run with my LRP Shpere and just found out that this ESC I have does NOT have the LiPo cut off that I wanted it to have (which the store told me it had). What is going to happen if I run this in my truck? Do I just have to make sure that I don't discharge the battery by running it too far down (below 3.0V), or will it damage my ESC?
Thanks,
James

It wont hurt the speed control at all. You dont want to go below 6 volts for a lipo pack. If you are not running a very hot motor (stock, 19t) you should very easily get 10 minutes out of it (probably more)

You will notice the speed drop off substantially before you reach 6.0v anyway. As soon as the speed drops off pull the car off the track. No biggie. I run both speedos from LRP and I've never actually hit the cutoff on my comp I just pull the car off when it slows down.

Default Cut off

You can always buy the Novak Lipo Cutoff and it installs between the ESC and Receiver. It will slow the vehicle as charge is getting low and then stop it completely when it is at the cutoff point. It has a bright blue LED that blinks as you near cut off point. They run about $25.

so long as u dont run it till it comes to an absolute full stop when you are full throttle then you'll be ok

Is the part number for the 07 edition #80700? I'm ordering one soon and just want to make sure it's the 07 edition.

To add to what Suna said, yes, they did not change the part number when the '07 version of the Sphere Comp was released.

They are great ESC's, but, if you are using them for off-road, remember to cover the holes (Mode/Set/LED's) in the ESC case to prevent dust and dirt from damaging the Mode and Set micro switches. A piece of scotch tape or electrical tape works well.

Thanks for the advise everybody! I will make sure to cover the holes on the ESC like mentioned above and I just bought the Novak Lipo cutoff (better safe then sorry w/ a $150 battery) and will install that shortly.
