Default wheelies 101

Hey guys, im new to this so i am trying all sort of stuffs. I got electric stampede. I have 86-spur and 19pinion.. and even with fresh charged battery i cant do wheelie. Unless i reverse and go forward full speed. From the videos seems like people do wheelies from stand still and even when in middle of run. Am i missing smth? Stampede not enough powerful in stock form to do wheelies from stand still? thanks everyone.

Default Wheelies

A lot of the videos you see are trucks with mod motors, brushless, lipos, and multiple cell lipos as well. About like dropping a 426 Hemi into a Neon and using rear wheel drive.

oh okay, i see. So does that mean stampede in stock form doesnt have enough power to do wheelies? Also you said rear wheel drive.. Does that mean 4 wheel drive trucks will have harder time doing wheelies?

upgrades are always cool, but all you need to do to make it wheelie is tighten the slipper

ok youve come to the right guy! XL5 pede should rip the wheels up easy. especially on 8 cells. you do have the titan motor right? loosen the rear man. let the suspension get a little softer. that way mroe weight will go to the back tires. glue your tires if they arent glued already. and make sure your batteries are peaked. if they dont start fresh and full, they wont lift up. tighten the slipper as much as possible. out of the box its loose so it wont lift up as easy. and go for it. if that dont work, you have a fouled motor

Dont do that. You can and will destroy your transmission.

Tighten your slipper clutch.

Hey thanks for reply. I have titan 12T motor. Ive made slipper tight. I have fresh charged the battery. I have tenergy 8 cell pack 4500 (with white tamiya (white 2 pin) connector). In my stampede it has deans connector. So i got deans to tamiya connector. Fresh charged the battery. ANd even with tight slipper i see no difference. Tires on stampede comes glued i think (dont know if its tight enough). I see its all rim is glued to tires.
Only think i dont have is loosen the rear. How do i loosen the rear suspension? I have no idea. Can u pls help with that?

do you have threaded shock bodies? if so just untighten the collars about 10 turns or so. if you dont, remove some of the spacers.

a stiff rear suspension will make it loose traction. soft suspension makes it hook up. like stated before, take spacers or loosen the collars. if you have all the spacers out, either get softer springs, put thinner oil in the shocks, or cut a small amount of the spring off on the end.

besides the clutch check to make sure your xl5 esc is not in training mode. If you have some spring spacers for the shocks add them to the front shocks. I would upgrade the connector to deans or the traxxas because with just a 7.2 3000 mine would get hot to the touch.
