New batteries
I just purchased and received two 6 cell 4200 NIMH packs and need to rig them up for my XX-4. What are your opinions on using heat shrink wraps on each cell? Wondering if it's necessary, nobody around my area has them. Thanks!

Anyone? Any help would be appreciated, anxious to get them finished!

Alright, thanks!

if you have the worlds XX4 with openings for the batts in the chassis definitely get the heat shrink for the cells before you put them together.

Nope, have the OLD xx-4. I'm still getting the heat shrink wrappings tho.

cells are already heat shrinked. It may make them too big.

if you put the extra shrink on and the batts dont fit you can trim the ears off the hold downs as well, had to do that to mine

Definately put the extra heatshrink on for the reasons mentioned. They are very thin and won't cause a fitment issue. Also, another benefit is that if you every have to disassemble the pack you won't ruin the factory shrink since you just cut off the outer shrink and remove the cell.

good tip quick, nothing like having to change every wrap cuz they ripped trying to get them apart.been there done that many times
