well snow is starting to fall in the north so its time to mount the foams.
anyone else into running on the carpet? if so post pics, set up ideas, stats, places to race....anything to do with carpet racing.....

I would like to try foam once.

Couldnt find any for my truck so i got grp park rubber tires.

I'll be running a road course.

Anyone know of pre-mount or unmounted donuts that will work on a Losi XXX-T CR?

We run indoor carpet and run regular off road tires, the traction is amazing.

Club wont let me use spike tires, seems best as lot of guys told me i'll grip roll more then anything.

This is probably our largest class. basically wooden jumps with OZITE covering. big black plow disks in different spots in the track. were working on a "quarter pipe" that will go up a wall. Not sure when/if were going to implement that.

Nice video. We do a similar thing in Monroe, Wisconsin. Last year when we ran in a local school gym. This year, we have a permanent track.

We run foam tires. A local guy is the supplier of most of our foams, but if you are desperate, I think Tower Hobbies has some foam truck tires available, at least they did.

It's great racing, and the thing I like about trucks is they are big and easy to work on compared to touring cars.

When you ran in the school Gym, how did you approach them about letting you guys do that, track setup time needed, any payment to the school, etc.

Don't know all the details, but there were some connections between the school and the RC club. One of the guys that runs the club is/was like the head facilities/maintenance guy at the school. So, it helps to have connections I guess.

Do you guys lower your trucks ride height or limit the downtravel when running indoor?

Would it be better to run just like the manual calls for?

My setup is the same as in the T4 associated book with the following exceptions
tires - green rears, blue fronts
shock oil...40 front, 35 rear
Inline axle carriers and axles.

I think that's it.

We ask the guys to tape or use the clear associated lexan tape for the bottom of their trucks to help keep screws from backout out and tearing the carpet, since 12th scales and tc's also run on the carpet. This year, we've added 8x8 carpet squares after all the jumps as well, to help protect the carpet from screws, shock bulkheads (buggies) and trucks/buggies that may end up "nose diving" in to the ground.
