Default Overheating electronics, limits and remidies

Hello I`m running a mamba 7700Kv in my t4 20 tooth pinion standard spur, and a 6 cell Ib4200 pack the pack is reaching 160 F, Esc 120F (mamba (is this ok)) and the motor is ok at 120F. What should I do? lower the gearing?
Any tips on lowering any other electronics temps are great too.
Oh and would the same thing happen to lipo?

The 7700 is prolly pulling some serious amps and the result is the heating of the battery. I see the same thing when running crappy packs with a mild brushless. Also, 20 tooth pinion seems pretty large for a st with that motor. Maybe try using a smaller pinion. yes, lipo will not heat up to the same degree assuming you get a quality lipo with a good C rating. They are capable of delivering more amps.

The motor and esc temps are very cool. This is definitely a problem with the battery not being able to keep up.

The gearing also sounds a bit high to me unless you are running in the street. Especially with big tires like Moabs. I run my T4/5700 about the same gearing with stock tires.

motor and esc will never run that cool

I would try dropping a tooth or two and see how it does. IB4200s are good (when they don't explode) so unless you have a weak pack I don't see how another nimh would help. If you want to try a nimh... go with an EP pack (red and black cells).

A123 or lipo is the best bet. It will cut weight and give more rip too.
