Default Traxxas VXL

Hey all you off road truckers: Got a VXL Traxxas Stampede w/5.0 Lipo on my Christmas list. Need some input re: build ups, etc-here is my background- I race on-road Tamiya Mini Coopers as a hobby and this will be a 1st off road truck.
Thanks-

what truck are you going to be using? For offroad racing go with a 2s lipo, for bashing and pure speed you may want to go to 3S...
Don't know what you meant by 5.0 lipo

oops my mistake- for my (dream wish list) Stampede speed and bashing is more like my style: probably 3s is where I will be.
