What are the weight limits for all the classes? Will mod classes have a weight limit? Also will you be able to use Lipo in the 19t classes?

The track and the facility look really nice. I am going to try and make it up there in the spring for this race.

Thanks, Michael

I'm so lucky I actually get to go too!!
Some buddies from RCRCR MIGHT go and I'll take some cash along to
hitch a ride with them to go.
Wow and I MIGHT get to meet Jared Tebo to.
Such an honor...I'll have him autograph my B44 body..

all classes have a weight requirement. lipo batteries are only legal in the mod classes and brushless truck.

19t is brushed 6 cell only.

please ask any questions about the race and someone will get back to you

All right, I thought I would spark some more controversy!

Since most local off-road tracks are allowing LiPo's, what are everyone's thoughts of making LiPo's legal for the 19t classes?

If we were having a straight up stock class, I could see not allowing them in that class.

Let us know your thoughts, we want to do want the racers want!

Here are the minimum weights for each class straight from the RCPS website.

Minimum weight ------------------------------ 52.88 ounces

1/10 scale 2wd Truck (19t & Mod)
Weight min. -----------------------------------60 ounces

1/10 scale 4wd Buggy (19t & Mod)
Minimum weight ------------------------------ 56.9 ounces

Brushless/LiPo 2wd Truck
Weight min. -----------------------------------60 ounces

I just raced the two big races at Trackside this month and I can tell you that the current 6 cell batteries give up nothing but weight to LiPo and most LiPo guys are adding weight for handling puropses. There was a tough jump the top 5 19t guys could clear (all using 6cell) that half the mod field couldn't do consistently. It's really become a non-issue in the last year.

Leave the lipo's for the mod classes another year. Let the 19t brushless catch on and allow both next year. Leisure does not currently allow brushless or lipo in there 19t classes....

I think you are right, that is probably the way to go. If it causes any strife to mix them before guys are ready the handful of entries into the 19t class that would be gained would not be worth the damage caused. I think most lipo users are running open mod so that is what they are already prepared to run.

I think down the road a 19t/10.5 BL class that allows lipo could be a really good thing. It would be the closest thing to a spec class we've ever had with even motors and even batteries. Right now 19t is another stock class where he who has the most battery wins. Lipo could fix that down the road.

i say run the li po in 19turn, but that will just make my day easier. less charging and discharging and all that garb. i do unfortunatly believe that it may keep some of the diehard local 19t guys from attending. i would say for this year to leave the rules alone and look into brushless lipo for teh 09 race.

Let the lipos run in the 19t class. I've never run one, simply because they aren't allowed in the usual club 19t class. But, I also wouldn't mind bringing one battery for one class.
