Need some LIPO god's touch to help me!
Hey guys i been browsing for a while now, a little breakdown that you dont care about that i want to say, i used to be into rc about 4 years ago, and 3 years ago i sold them all and moved on, well im back, and i really missed it so i'm back for good! /me claps!!!!!
anyways, i bought a 1/18th MINI LST. I just need some lipo help, i read the book and understand, but i jsut want to know a rough procedure of what you other lipo users do, first off i'm using a 850mah 11.1 3s great planes battery.
I'm also using a triton Jr. lipo charger, with a balancer called equinox.
Ok now, i have brushless in the mini lst, its a 8000kv, and a mamba 25, and i will setup voltage cutoff when i get the castle link to program the esc.
but how do i charge this battery successfully, i read the guide book and it said to plug battery into the equinox, then hit the button on equinox once, then start the charge on the charger, on my first battery that i messed up, it would go for 40 minutes and never beep like its completed, i really don't know what im doing wrong, i got a brand new battery, and i wont let it run out of charge like the last one, but anyone have this setup or experience to tell me what i'm doing wrong?
please post your comments, thanks a ton for reading all that!!!

All you need to do is set the charge rate at .85 amps and then set the charger to charge a 3s lipo.

It will take more than 40 minutes to charge if the battery was "empty". Lipos will take around an hour for a full charge, depending on the specific charger and how dead the battery was.
Did you over-discharge this battery?? If so then the voltage may be too low for the charger to start charging it.

yes my first battery went too low, i didnt know that i wasnt supposed to run it till it didnt move the car anymore, so i bought a new battery (the same kind) and got the programmer so it autocut off the car after a certain voltage.
i never discharged the lipo battery or anything like that.
thanks for the info guys, i have afew more questions,
what should i program my esc to cut off at? how many volts ? thanks alot, if anyone has any info please let me know
edit: congrats party_wagon on getting 1000 points

You set it best to 3.0V or higher(3.1~3.3V) per Cell, never lower.

ok great thanks alot, i will check out the options in the castle link software when the actualy unit comes. Otherwise i will leave this new battery in the box until i have that, i don't wanna break another battery.
so if its 3 a cell i would want to set it at 9v? or 3v becuase it knows that per cell? thanks

ok thank you, one more question, since i set the balance to 9v, will that mean i will have really short runtimes since it has to keep that much inside the battery? i have a 910mah battery from electrifly, or does that not matter, only the mah is how to determine the run times? thanks a ton, look forward to hearing from you
