A mamba brushless motor made for 1/10th will not power a 1/8th scale very long without overheating. You need to get a brushless motor more suitable for 1/8th scales. For example, a feigao 8xl motor etc. I am not a conversion expert, but i am sure some of those guys will reply on what you need exactly. You can also check www.rc-monster.com, or read the 1/8th conversion thread on here.

Default Revo and Losi 8ight E-Cnoversion

Hello all!
I have recently found some Brushless Li-Po kits for my Losi 8ight and my Traxxas Revo. I have a few questions that I would love for yall to answer. Ok here I go. Will a Mamba Max 7700kV be powerful enough to use in my 8ight and Revo or should I get something less powerful? I am only interested in off-road dirt track racing so I really just want something more powerful than stock. Also if not the Mamba then what brushless motor? What size Li-Po pack should I get? I am looking for run times around 30-45 minutes. I am already getting the MRC Super Brain 989 because it can charge everything I will ever have. Also has anyone done an e-conversion on either of these platforms? If so what kit did you use? Well, that is all for now... Please reply!

Yes, I plan on buying everything from that website. Also I really do wish some electric guru would give me a solid answer too.

Have you read the 1/8th conversion forum on here. They have some converted 8ights. There is also a thread by team tekin on a 8ight conversion.

If you really want to run 30-45 minutes you should invest in a high end motor like Neu.

I would suggest a 1515 for the Revo (2200kv) and a 1512 (1900-2000kv) for the 8ight. Depending on your driving style, etc you can get really good runtimes... an 8000mah pack can do 30 min easy and might even flirt with 45 under perfect conditions.

Building them with 5000-6000mah packs and do a battery swap would also work.

With these 1512/1515 motors you can run a wide range of winds and make any of them work. Guys have had success on 4s lipos with everything from 1700kv-3200kv.

The Quark125b works really nice with the Neu motors.... but costs a lot more than a MambaMax. I would pick from those two.

What batteries do you plan to run?

best bet may be to post your question in the 1/8 scale conversion thread.
