I was just concerned about the new configuration. Going from saddle pack to inline and moving all the weight to one side is a major change. If they have the rest of the electronics and chassis balanced well, it may not matter.

lightweight cells my friend. they can be your best friend in anything. or add some lead weights on the oposite side of the battery to even everything out.

I will be buying one and hopping it up to test along side some 501x's. If you talk to the Tamiya Japan testers and enginners, they will confirm that in certain situations this car is faster than the 501x. We built one this past week or so and it is a clever design. Many things strike you when you are building it that this is way beyond a DF-03 or DT-02.

Well I don't know about Jimmy (Oople), but his reviews are always the best. I am going to try and get all of the hopup parts that are out, including some that are not out yet and see what is worth it and what isn't. There are a few people at Tamiya like Fred with 501's that I am sure I could compare with (they drive mine, I drive their's).

I hope to throw the idea out to them and see if they will let me do sort of a build/review for the TamiyaUSA site. I might not be the best person since I have NEVER raced off road before, but there are plenty of guys here to help.

HI Guys....I've gotten DB01. Was wondering whether some of the hop ups available for the 501X can be used on the DB-01 aswhile?

Pretty much, yes. Seems everything except integral chassis parts...all suspention, most transmission bits are...alloy wing mounts, c/f shock towers, I'm assuming cvd's too...heres a list of official Durga hopups:

I look forward to the oople review, as well as one of his reviews for the SBV2 Pro (not sport) and the GV2s.

Great....Thanks.... I've asked a friend of mine to get the CV joints and the slipper clutch from Japan.

It'll be great if most of the stuff from the 501X can be used. I'm assuming CF shock towers and the alu roll center mount too.

I can't wait for the parts to be back. So I can start fixing up the DB01.

The 501 shock towers and roll centre mount will NOT fit the Durga.
