Default how are you supposed to take care of batteries?

Hey guys I am looking for some info on batteries. What is the proper way to use and reuse them. I have 6 cell 7.2v 4200mah and 5000mah batteries. I charge them, use them and when the car slows down and dies i put them back on the charger. If i am done for the day i usually leave them like half way charged.

When are you supposed to discharge? cycle? or whatever else. I have a team checkpoint charger. Thanks

Yea that helped him alot......

Depends on what kind of batteries you have. I find the IB cells to be more sensitive/delicate than the GP cells. With my IB cells I charge at 5.5amps and I discharge them let them cool down then charge them back up(Only discharge them if you are going to charge them right back up). If you are going to let your IB batteries sit don't discharge them. With GP's and other batt's (other than IB) I charge at 5.5 and discharge after every run.

Do you race or just bash, if you bash then it really isn't that important to discharge your batt's. All it does is increase performance and decrease batt life.

Thanks for the response. Right now I just have Venom battery packs which I know are not that good but I want to start buying IB and other good cells and want to make sure I get the most out of them when I start racing.

So I guess you want to discharge them, charge them, use them. Then discharge them, charge them, use them ect.... while letting them cool between charges/discharges?

The discharge before hand allows them to have better performance?

The discharge/charge would be one cycle. Why would you want to cycle a battery 2,3,4 or 10 times?

Thanks

Usually people cycle batteries more than one time if your pack has been sitting for a while(a month or more) To "wake up" the pack
