I have not broke a tower but a few front braces. With how I landed something had to give.

Was it the newer versions? They have had a couple of re-designs. I have yet to break a new one.

They do have a beefed-up tower out now...same part number. There are some pictures of both types on the ZX-5 thread ("Kyosho electric offroad") You should also make sure that you're using the nylon towers, not the "H" (hard) towers.

I've broken my share of towers myself, but it's not easy by any means. I have 6-7 weeks on the front tower and the rear lasted about 4 weeks. The newer stuff is much better.

ppl I know put a Carbon fiber shock tower mounted behind stock tower. It really strengthens em.

THANKS FOR THE INFO .............

I have a double Carbon Fiber tower and aluminum front tower mount. Breaking front towers is a thing of the past for me. In fact, I bet I have not broken anything on my ZX-5 for months. I suck at driving too...:weird:

MADMAN23 11-07-2007 09:47 AM

i have never broke any part on my 2 zx5....

I have noticed that it looks like the Kyosho pro's run like 6mm front and rear carbon fiber shock towers. I went to Extreme carbon fiber products and purchased 2 sets of each. When i received them each piece has a different cut. They don't match up. Has any one else had this problem with Extreme carbon fiber.

yeah, get the CF plate towers and douuble up front and rear....you won't be breaking them anymore;)

I finally broke my first front tower. I had to break a few other things in the process as well though!:lol:

Is the car donkey fliping and landing backwards on the tower? The K car is one of the most durable 4wd's out there. They have done a lot of work to make this car bullet proof and seem to be always revising the parts to make them stronger as they find the new weak points.

Yeah, those new ones are tough as nails.

I made it a little over a month (5 weeks, broke on the 6th) on a rear...and two months (7 or 8 weeks I think) so far on the front...running 1-2 times a week between Rev and Pegasus.

Only problem is that now I have a bunch of extra shock towers...all the original style...LOL
