I would like to see something in a hardcase like the Orions, but I haven't seen anything else besides Maxamps.

I haven't seen any saddle Li-po packs except for the Maxamps packs. But you can make a hard case for Maxamps.

I made an A123 2S1P saddle pack for my BJ4WE. They are only 6.6V though, but work fine for 5 minute mains. They are lithium nano-phosphate, not lipo but work fine for offroad. I don't need anything more.

That was according to Team Orion when I spoke with them last week. I think they have awesome support service. For that reason, I purchased two 4800 lipos.

I am not associated with them and I do not receive a free t-shirt like what MaxAmps does.

Sounds good, I just hope they follow through so I can get them before the next out-door season starts up.

I talked to Joe today, and his quote was that "its a rumor". It could be on their list of development, but it shouldnt be released this year.

How's that working out? Can you post some pics?

The lower voltage shouldn't be a concern, just run a 3.5 brushless system.

A guy at our track is running an X-6 with only 4 cells, and a Novak 5.5, and he isn't really hurting for power.

well this is my setup of maxamp 4400mah lipo saddle packs with my custom made 1mm cases which take a crap load of abuse. no dents after more than 50 roll overs and crashes.

its protected on top and left/right side for impacts and also the bottom is covered so that the CF like gaps for holding normal sub C cells doesnt cut the pack open.
