Default Cyclone D4 Vs Tamiya 501x

I want to get a serious 4wd offroad buggy.

I want to thrash it. Its going to cop a lot of hits against walls.

Which is a tougher car in most peoples opinion?

Never had a carbon fibre car, are they stronger than plastic?

Which car is easier to setup?

if your a basher the D4 is much better, its got closed diffs and shaft.

whereas the 501x has open diffs and the belts wear quicker than what shafts would.

both are great cars but the 501 u need to maintain it alot more often.

In my opinion a wall is tougher.

i would buy the wall its even harder than carbon, and will last longer under these conditions...

LMAO

I would buy the D4. Belts would cause you more problems when bashing.

Thanks for your intelligent and insightfull comments about walls.

Thanks for your contribution to the forum. You must have a wealth of knowledge.

I wanted to find out which car has a reputation for being a better basher
and which car has less maintanence. I am trying to decide which car to get.

I know these are pro cars but i tend to bump into fences in the backyard.

From a transmission point of view, I would choose a drivetrain which is sealed. its just much easier to maintain, and less to worry about which is an issue when you race off road.

just my shout though, everyone has their favourites

The two cars are probably about as tough as each other - perhaps the 501X is the stronger, but as people said the open drivetrain needs more maintenance and it's totally unsuitable for 'bashing' in my opinion.
The D4 is by far the better choice for bashing about.

I do respond with my wealth of knowlage when the question has merit.

yes it was a funny retart at your questions, we all had a little laugh.

if you look at my signature you will see my preference in cars. and your no brainer question's will be answered completely all in good time by the multitudes of user's.

is carbon fibre stronger than plastic..yes ,im very suprised you didnt know.

why would you be concerned about setup, when you are going to smash it into walls.....do you mean repair or setup.

You want a serious top end car,,,witch the D4 already is a championship winning edition out of the box........you ask is it.

the D4 is a awsome car and too nice just to be smashed into a wall lots, as you mention,,,what a waste of such a beautiful high end car.....

Thanks for your intelligent and insightfull questions,,,,,,maybe if you would read the D4 thread(witch you have been in) all these question would have been answered.

hey this site is full to the brim of GREAT advice and its all there, to be found if you just look a little. and most of all, have a little fun on the way to finding out.kind reguards

and dodge those pesky walls, it faster
even a car that your LHS supports and has plenty of spares in stock.

4wd drive electric cars are not good bashers period. if you must have an electric wheeler for bashing get a tamiya dark impact or 2. otherwise buy a traxxas.
