A little confused about charging
Ok I have a 2 part question about batteries.
For example: Lets say the batteries are unmatched EP4200 mAh built side x side.
1.What is the best way to charge a new NiMH 6 cell battery for the first time.
I have read that a slow charge (400mAh for 12 to 14 hours) is the best.
I have also read that the slow, uncontrolled (non-peak sensing) charge will damage a Nimh cell if the charge is not stopped when the cell is full. The "theory" behind C/10charging is the rate is so low as to not harm cells once full. This is not true and it will damage them.
2. If its bad to slow charge a pack, how does one equalize the pack without a tray.
Thanks

Here is a great article from slingshot about charging new batteries, it works quite well. Regardless of what your charging equalizing tray is a great thing to purchase if you don't already have one.
