My MBX-5 is built. Now I need to get to the track. Has anyone had any problems with the car so far?

the only thing ive found to be a problem is bending the steering plate

i have stacked 2 together cut the bottom one short and mount to the top plate

that makes it extremely strong and the bump steer is almost zero

I've heard many people talk about this mod. Can you post a pic of what it looks like. Also, does anyone know if the new hopup steering arm support fixes this issue with the stock plate?

Thanks

Anyone know when the Racer's Edge MBX5 stuff is gonna be out? I really want those torque rods(they only have the front listed right now, WTF?) and ackerman plate...the towers couldn't hurt, either.

Edit: I was going to link straight to the stuff but apparently it won't work right, soooooo...

the only thing i have broken so far is when i bent the steering plate

i have at least 10 races on it now including 4 trophy races 3 of which i ran 40 minute mains

i have many many hours on it now and its holding up great

i havent done any mainteneance except i changed 2 of the hinge pin bushings

and believe me when i say i havent been easy on it

get one and you will be impressed without a doubt

tambok where you been at?

finally broke down and got an airtronics 357 servo do you use it for your steering?

looking at the specs i kinda wish i had got a 358 instead

maybe i will get a 358 next time and run the 357 for throttle and the 358 for steering

but let me know what you think it could be a long time before i am ready to get another servo

i am pretty sure i am going to put the 357 as the steering servo in my mbx5 and run the futaba digital servo as the throttle since i have had zero trouble from the one i got for the throttle just the steering one gave me trouble when it ate those gears

anyone of you guys use the 3pk? i got one of those today also and in the manual it says to change freq you must change the module please tell me they are trippin i bought another set of crystals anyway but to play it safe the originals were 75 so i got 74

I use the 358Z as steering and a 925MG throttle
I am using the 3PK for almost a year now.
You don't need to change modules unless you change frequency....example from 75 mhz to 27mhz or 40 mhz.......

You don't need ot change modules if you change channels.

PTP....if you have originally channel 75 and you bought channel 74 then you are okay...both of those channels are in the 75mhz frequency.

frequency refer to the band you are using ex......75mhz, 27mhz,40mhz, for r/c surface use.

channels are those crystals you buy like for 75mhz frequency........there is 60, 61, 62, and so on.

i didnt think so but i read it a couple times and it said to change crystal is illegal or something

but another guy told me its because of a FCC regulation that they are forced to print it that way and not because of any kinda problem

seems to be a really nice radio have you had any problems at all

hopefully i will give it a try this weekend

i bought it because i plan to start bringing my son with me to the races but i dont want to share radios with him in case he decides to play with the buttons or something stupid and i thought it would be real nice to have the added security of pcm and the failsafe

thanks for the quick radio knowledge believe me though when i say i am quite familiar with it all i still remember when all freq were even numbers and we still got glitched by guys on close channels especially those gus with pcms they would glitch everybody
