Its for 2wd on tracks with low traction to help reduce tire spinning. onroad has the traction to put down power and go. Are you sponsored by a brushed motor company because the only ones who say that they're better anymore are the guys that are told to saay that.

You should open a tuner shop...you apparently have a special touch.

If one needs to relate the new Light Novak motors to brushed motors I propose this:

"R" motors= single wind motors

"Light" motors= double or triple motors.

Make sense?

All this and BL is supposed to be cheaper then brushed! I applaud Novak for being on the cutting edge of this technology but with all these choices I am going to still need 2-3 motors with a couple different rotors?

You're going brushless???????????

I have motors you can use...LOL...I'll even lend you a GTB to use. Mom is gonna be pissed though...LOL.

Really though...it's just something to try if you want to. Everybody seems to act like if you run a brushless setup, you're contractually obligated to purchase every single optional motor or part that comes down the line. Some guys do that for everything on the car regardless...some people just run what they have...personally, I'm somewhere in between.

The only thing I would consider somewhat necessary is a sintered rotor...and all the Novak motors (aside from the sport setups) come with them now.

If you want a softer hit when you run lower-turn brushless...you can try a "light" motor...you can even trade an older one in and get a spiffy new "light" motor for about 40-45 bucks.

You still only need one motor. BL responds better to turning down the expo and epa better than brushed. Even if you do get 2 motors neither of them ever generates any costs.

and how many brushed motors do u have now?

you dont NEED all these brushless options. buy a 5.5r and be happy.

i know for me i have saved a shit load, or i wouldnt be racing electric otherwise if it were not for brushless.

I don't think the optional larger diameter rotor Novak offers is suited too well for off-road. So for someone getting into brushless I don't recommend getting that rotor which means you don't need any other rotors as the motor tuning is done with different cans (5.5, 6.5, etc... and R vs L). So brushed you change armatures to go from say a 12 turn to a 10 turn motor. For brushless you go from a 7.5(12 turn) to a 6.5(10 turn) to have a faster motor. I use and recommend a 7.5R for 2wd, 6.5R for truck and 4wd all using 6 cells.
