Talking hornet

best idea would be try ebay or go to www.tamiyaclub.com and ask in the forums there.someone there will definitely know where to get them.

any tamiya 2wd front wheel will fit the hornet like the front wheels off the new "desert gator" buggy but i am not sure how the rear attaches.is it attached with the hex adapter?

Talking wheels

ok, how are the rear wheels attached? is it with a hex adapter thing?

if so,wheels of the desert gator will fit

desert gator, astute wheels etc will fit the front, and the fronts will fit any 2.2" tyre

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Tamiya-53086-...QQcmdZViewItem these attach with a standard tamiya hex on the rear.any hobby shop that sells tamiya should be able to get wheels for a hornet

If the wheels used are the 3 piece 5 spoke ones that use the adapter with the cicles on it like the frog and regular hornet go to:

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXLDW4&P=Z rear
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXLDW3&P=Z front

I believe the rerelease wheels are the same as the original ones. They also have the tires as well.

Dude, Pick up the phone..

Call Tower.. they have people on deck that answer these questions all day long so take advantage of it. Start your conversation something like this:

"HI !!!!!! (say it in a very excited and firm tone.. this sets the pace) - I have a Tamiya Hornet and I need wheels/tires all the way around. Do you have part numbers for these items?"

The trained customer service rep who is paid to help you will give you the numbers and you will write them down so you can price shop both on they're site as well as others. It won't matter if you have the new or the old as the wheels/tires are identical either way. Then you will thank them and end the conversation something like this:

"80's FOREVER MAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (do your best imitation of burnout meets hippie)"

And promptly hang up the phone..

awww man.. no pouting!

It's all sound advice! I noticed you had some part numbers but Tamiya lists a 'U' prior to those numbers in they're parts stock, so you could also try searching under 'U53040' for example. Other then that, I would give tower a call and maybe they would even have some old stock floating about on the shelves. It never hurts to ask them. If you were looking for one of our good board members to offer some up for cheap, might I further suggest you move the request to the WANTED section of the forums. Look for it in the main listing tree. Who knows, ya might get lucky!
