Default Schottky Diode's.

What exactly do they do? I got some included in with my Nosram dominator ESC. Do i need to use Schottky's diodes with my 12x2 (team scream, YOK?)? It also came with some capacitor's, are all these extra items required for the best motor performance? Or are todays motor's so efficient that they no longer need this older technology?

they are a one-way valve... stop electric flow going back to the esc.

Ok, so would that be a contributing factor in my speedie over heating? I have dropped down to a 17 pinion, and it still shuts down.
