You don't need a hard case... is that a track rule or something?

I've run lipos in my XX4 for a couple years.... the maxamps 4400 pack and I have an old maxamps pack that has different dimensions. Both are just plain shrink wrapped.

The nice thing is that you can secure them in the car really good and leave it there. I added lead weight to the rear of my XX4 with the lipos to bring it up to min specs and balance the car.

Maybe take the lipo saddle packs and put them in a balloon, then wrap with fiberglass cloth and resin... to make a homemade hard case pack

Actually a pretty good idea, but would the batteries need some kind of venting? You could even go so far as using graphite or kevlar cloth.

Yes, a hard-cased LiPo Saddle Pack would be Great! This has been mentioned in a few Forums and Threads... Lets all hope that with 4WD on the rise plus more Saddle Pack configures kits being released... That somebody at a major brand/distributor listens and sees there is demand for it.
