Default Winter Lipo Storage, questions

I am looking to pic up a lipo but would want to get some advice on how you guys store it in the winter.

Does freezing temperatures affect the packs? Knowing the fire issue with them, storing in the garage would be nice but here in ND it can get pretty cold.

Just want to make sure this doesn't screw up something if I try it.

Well I don't think it would blow up or leak some horrifyingly corrosive toxic material.

Shouldn't hurt the pack's performance though, as long as you don't try running or charging it when it's that cold. If you think about it, when hobby shops receive those in new inventory during the winter months, you don't believe they were shipped in a heated truck, do you?

Cold shouldn't affect it. As far a storing, charge it to around 50%. They like to be stored with 1/2 of the battery charged up.

Cain... I'm pretty sure some of the plane guys store theirs in the freezer. But I would check out rcgroups.com and verify that it works fine. Those guys have been using lipos for several years and tend to be more anal than most users here.
