Default Kyosho parts question (Pics added)

Hey everyone, I am having trouble finding a web site or company to get Kyosho parts. Since Tower no longer deals with them. I don't know where to turn. I have tried everything I know under a search engine, and so far came up empty. If anyone has any ideas, or knows of a site,or phone number, anything. Please let me know. Thanks.

Default Thanks

Thanks guys, I will check these out. Its an older buggy, not even sure what it is. It was brought to me at work to see if I could fix it. No books, paperwork, nothing. The guy who owns it doesn't even know what it is. If I can figure out how to post pics on here I will so maybe someone here will know. Thanks Frank

Default This is what I need

This is what I need. This is the center diff out of the tranny. It appears the guy that owns the buggy ran it with the slipper clutch loose, and melted the center out of the diff gear. It also melted all the diff balls and the bearing to the diff, or he over tightened the diff one. Either way, this is what I need.

Wow I haven't seen one of those since it was new. Off the top of my head I can't think of the model name, but it was circa 91-92 Kyosho.
When they were released they were fairly competitive, but they had one weakness. THE TRANNY. It was a crazy twin internal belt system if I'm not mistaken.
He probably had the slipper too tight and the diff too loose. I would say EBay may be your only chance.
One other option would be to find an original Associated Stealth tranny. I remember that even the factory guys were fitting the AE tranny into this car. I believe it was just a matter of drilling holes in the bottom of the car and making a top brace.

I think it is called a Pro-X. I'm not sure on that though. Ebay is your best chance unless you find a Japanese hobby shop that still has parts.

Default AWESOME

That is it, Thanks for the help. Now since the diff was a common issue, I need to come up with a solution. If anyone knows where to find info on the stealth tranny swap, please let me know.

mfishel, When I took the tranny apart the slipper clutch lock nut came off by hand, and the main diff screw was very tight. If you have any info on the tranny swap, please let me know. I checked Ebay for parts, and turned up nothing. A stealth tranny on the other hand is fairly easy to come by if it will work.

XXXCRRacer, yes it is. It is in very good shape. Sucks, but I believe its destiny is a shelf.

That is a Kyosho Pro X buggy. Transmission very similar to the old Losi LRM transmission. I cant direct you where to purchase parts, but I can give you a site to view the instruciton manual, you should be able to get part numbers from there...

http://www.retromodelisme.com/manuel...-x-kyosho.html

This help comes from the Vintage RC site I also belong to, rc10talk.com.

Quote:
No belt drive in that tranny. It has a Losi style transmission with the diff externally adjustable without removing a dogbone
