honestly either one. really there all the same if your not running a brushless set up. you could get away with a venom 3600 or 4200. there cheap, almost every hobby shop carries them and there runtime is decent. brushless set ups require alot of pwr, so a matched set would be choice. but i see your other post to being new to the hobby, so welcome aboard, its fun. any question dont hesitate to ask.

mAh, aka milliamp per hour, its the discharge rate. the higher the number the more power and longer runtimes, but the longer it takes to charge.
example: my IB matched top of the line 4200mAh 6cell pack take 2hrs to charge and i get 15-20 minutes out of it on a brushless set up. my venom 3000 pack only takes 1.5hrs to charge, but iam luckey to get 15minutes out of it. if your running a brushed motor, which i see you are, your runtimes will be slightly lower due to motor design. the rule of thumb is 2hr charge, 12-15min runtime.

rc10guy, what are you charging on that takes 2 hrs to charge a 4200 mah battery? I charge the same in about 45 minutes.

keep in mind that NICAD(nickle cadium) is not as good as NIMH(nickle metal hydrate) the nicads need to be discharged all the way befor chargin again, there total life span is shorter, the NIMH batteries are easier to work with.
they can be charged at anytime, and they last forever. ive had mine for over a year. and there still top notch.
