Here's a pic of the longest operating offroad track in the USA.
It's wide so i won't post it, just click above.
In Vineland NJ. Family Hobbies Raceway (aka; Vineland)
Home of the first ROAR Offroad National.
It also has the longest running, grumpiest off road trackowner/racer in the USA but we won't get into that of mention names (feeble!).
Also one of the best race directors around who's been putting up with racers since 1983, talk about patience! The infamous Judge Judy.
Here's the history of the track if you're interested, check out the pics/names of the racers at the first ROAR nats.
Talk about short shorts

Awesome post. Man those bodies are HIDEOUS. I am now the owner of Planet R/C in Indy. I hope to some day take the mantel of oldest and grumpiest owner/operator in the country

The boards are just another obstacle on the track. I'm seeing these more and more at the tracks here in Japan. They really suck but if you hit them right you can gain a lot of time. The biggest problem with them is most people hit them in the same spot and the dirt in front of the boards gets dug out. Makes for a hell of a hit. This track does very little track maintenance so you have to work your lines around the numerous pot holes and dug out jump faces. It can be very demanding but it also builds great racers.

At the TN state race (Burns Offroad) they put in some ruts...similar to the boards but opposite... They just dug some V's in the dirt..if you don't get much speed before hitting them or you don't rebuild your shocks regularly, than you can can loose lots of time.

cool. I love seeing these new ideals. My local indoor track is getting rebuilt this weekend, one reason I started this thread.

Those posts are over three years ago. I wonder how many are still operating. I know Planet RC in Indy closed a long time ago.

The FarmII closed last year, but early this year another track was built on top of the old. Theres just so many around central NC that the 2nd owner ran hisself out of business competeing for racers and running multiple times a week.

Yes, I am seeing some of that around here. We have tracks running their schedules on top of other tracks and they think it is good for their track. The problem is that it is really bad for both or around here all four.

It is great to have a lot of tracks but there are just so many racers and bashers don't support the cost of a track.

There are probley 10 tracks within 1-1/2 hours from me. The ones within 30-45 mins run on designated weeks once a month and have upwards of 100 racers everytime. The ones around Charlotte(where he FarmII was) race 1-2 times a week and are lucky to get 20-30 racers.
