Losi has no choice but to design a new buggy. The best car they have is XX4, but thats 10 years old. What I was told that the XXX-4 was designed for the european tracks.

They did just release the new XXXTCR competition truck. And it isn't RTR or even Factory Built.
At first I wondered why they went with the quick change on an electric truck. But now I believe they see the future. Lipo and 30 minute mains! woohoo

They are using AD2 crossbones. The hub is based off the AD2, but made to fit on the electric rear arms (AD2 hub is way wider). It even uses the same size bearings as the AD2 hub.

In any case..............the XX4 was re-released as limited. Its pretty simple really.

I really like my xx-4 Worlds, The car may be 10 years old but it still is very competitive, I just hope I hope they will still make parts for years to come.

Uh, they didn't re-release the XX4 for nostalgia reasons as you seem to suggest, it was because many believe it's a superior car in comparison to the newer XXX4.

Losi has plenty of choice. Horizon has seen that the racer market is not only small, its also filled with internet message boards such as this one, where people argue and "trends" kill sales. RTR vehicles sell all the time, and in 10x the quantity. The XXX4 definately wasnt designed for european tracks. Check out oople.com for pics of those tracks and you'll see what I mean.

I think the XXXTCR might be the last race project "Losi" ever engages in. Why would Gil leave the company he built...I think they're going in a direction he didnt like.

Just because they arent 100% race as before doesnt mean theyve given up racing.
