Default Brushless ESC for XX-4

How have you guys fit the GTB in a XX-4?

Also, I heard about Checkpoint coming out with some brushless motors, but does anyone have any inside news on a possible ESC as well?

Thanks in advance

Edited because I went with the GTB

Just ran a GTB w/ 5.5 for the first time last weekend. Fits perfect with a little work. Perfect motor for the whip, too. You can't beat Novaks customer service.

Go for a LRP Sphere TC Spec, fits under the shell just fine with the fan and heatsink. I've used one since they came out and its been faultless.

I've had both the GTB and Mamba system in my XX4, both worked awesome, the wiring on the Mamba is a bit cleaner...

I ran a GTB 6.5R setup in my XX4. Very fast and reliable.

I use a lrp comp with a 5.5 in my xx4. I run 35% expo, very managable on the race track. I use the heat sink, but not a fan. Temps run 120 on motor and 140 on speed controler.

Cool beans. Thanks for all the fast responses. I've been sedated since I posted originally (got wisdom teeth out). I'm leaning towards the GTB, but I also have a spektrum, and saw the DSM version. Is there a real noticeable difference?

In some reviews, I also heard that the LRP is smoother. When I get the ESC, I'll probably run it with a Checkpoint 9X2 until the Checkpoint Brushless comes out. If that takes too long then I'll just get the Novak 5.5, or would it be a better deal to just get it all at the same time?

I'd wager that Mr. Cragg doesn't have to wait 2-3 months to get his speedo replaced under warranty.

Has anyone tested the GTB up against the GTB Spread to see if there is any noticeable difference?

I finally got the GTB and have a slight problem trying to figure how how to fit it. haha. What solutions have people had for the power cap in the WE versions with battery slots?
