Is there a difference between a schottky diode and a power capicitor? If so wich would be more apropriate for a gm v12.

Thanks

The powercap is not as important as the shottky, the powercap just gives you more punch. but if you are driving in the stock class it might be good to use one..

I dont know why, but I thought you were running a Novak ESC where it really doesnt make a difference if you run a shotky or not. The capacitor is a must though, helps punch, and prevents glitching.

I have all the capicitors on the motor but i'm going to get a power capicitor and the schottky diode just to be on the safe side. Does the power capicitor replace the regular capicitors?

You'll need the ones that attach to the motor from + to can, - to can and then one from + to - Some of the new motors already have them installed like the P2k's, Monsters, P2k2' and a few others on those you can skip that. All you need then would be the Schottky diodes, and power capacitors.
