I'm pretty sure that a novak 7.5 is a 5800kv motor!!

The Mamba Max is legal, but the Mamba motors are not. As for trouble, your much more likely to have trouble with a Novak than the MM. Everyone knows that Novak has great customer service, because we have to send our stuff in all the time. I've heard that Castle has great customer service too, but I don't know too many people that have ever needed it.

I'd think real hard before buying a Mamba Max. It is sensorless and that is a big deal. I owned two Mamba Max systems in the past and had to deal with cogging, stuttering and hesitation. I tried all the setups I could. I was using Spektrum Pro radio and IB3800 batteries and even 4400mah maxamps Saddle Pack LIPOs and using the Novak Glitch Buster cap on the receiver.

Although the cogging and stuttering was fairly minor, it seemed to happen to me at the worst times and costed me several races.

I went back to Novak and all the problems stopped, and I am driving faster than I ever have now too.

Go with Novak. Their customer service is the best. They even helped me solve a problem with my Mamba Max system! What other company can claim that?!

I can agree with the MM having some issues, but can be easily fixed by removing motor connectors... My problems are a thing of the past. My novak system "FEELS GREAT" But thats about it, overheating, 3 broken fans, which novak would not replace under warranty, just wanted to sell me another one. One fan only lasted about 2 weeks! I've had bad bearings on the sensor side of brushless motor, only comes in novaks can replacement kit, There GTBs have grown tails, oh wait thats a capacitor. And another GTB took a shat after 2 battery packs!!! Sent in for repair and was given a referbished unit, not a new one.. Just a few things I have seen

But the novak is still kickin after 3 years of 4wd abuse. Figured I would add this to not sound like a total hater

They all have their place. I currently run three Novak systems (2 1/10th trucks and 1/10th 4wd) and one Mamba / Neu combo (electric 1/8th buggy). In the applications that I have them in they work perfectly. I have had problems with one of the Novak GTB's but it was taken care right away and customer service was excellent.

I would agree with the above post both systems are great. I wish novak would make the gtb computer progamable like the mamba that would be a perfect combo

For 1/10 sanctioned racing, the Novak or LRP are probably the way to go. If you don't race in sanctioned races, the MM is the better choice with the right sensorless motor. My 1/8 buggy uses the MM with no problems. In my T4, I prefer the LRP Sphere. I run the Sphere with no fans and no cap. It runs much much cooler than the GTB. I raced in 97* heat last weekend with no trouble.

I am trying to setup my MM. During the Arm process, all it will do is constantly flash all three lights and rapidly beep 4 times continuously.

I cant get it to the calibration step with the radio.

Any ideas?
