Default XXX to CR

I have an older Losi XXX that I would like to convert to CR. I know the chassis and stuff are made from a different composite. So I guess I am just looking to upgrade the rear end and the steering components. Is this possible? If so, what parts would I need? Thanks

Steering rack up front, new front tower, new rear tower, new rear pivot block, rear arms, and rear hubs.

Itd be cheaper getting a new car Im guessing.

There's a good CR thread on this forum that outlines all the differences, and the pros and cons.

The concensus is that it would be cheaper to buy a CR than to upgrade, assuming you wanted to change it 100%. Then again if you are happy with the graphite then you could probably spend maybe $50 to get the CR bits that add to the adjustability - if that's what you want in an upgrade.

The biggest things needed are the steering rack, the rear arms, hubs and pivot. The towers would be good to get too, but the front tower has similar positions but is .050" higher, so just adjust downtravel limiters and the rear tower I think we mostly run camber positions that are on the old tower anyways.
If you want it to handle like a cr, buy a cr. If you want it to be close so you can run the new setups just go with essentials.

Thanks for the input guys. Think maybe I'll just get a new car. Really hate to get rid of this though, it has only been run one time. Been outta racing for a bit and want to start again this winter.

To be honest many wont feel the difference, especially if youre new. Run that car you have, the only thing I would be concerned about is the hubs, both towers, and rack. Dont worry about composites.

Definitely not a newbie. Been racing for quite a few years. Just took a offroad hiatus due to the unavailablity of quality race tracks in my area. Again, I think I'll just buy a new car. Thanks for your input.

I converted mine, mostly by necessity, the chassis is half the price of the graphite, I did not do the steering rack, yet, but I did the chassis, towers, rear arms, rear pivot, motor guard. It looks smooth. It went really quickly, and was not really that expensive.

Which XXX do you have? I had the original one and only got to race it like 10 times.

Mine is the original XXX. I bought it and then the local offroad track closed. Now a new one has opened for winter indoor racing. I'll just try to sell this. I just bought a B4 to go with the BJ4WE I have.
