Weather or not there will be a race and a winner. This is actual off road dealing with all kinds of issues. As stated in previous posts not every country stops racing due to rain or other such things.

Here in the US many think off road means super traction, highly maintained, tracks and no one would run in rain or mud. Many offroad tracks are really on road with a few bumps. That isn't true off road.

There are ways to make a car or truck safer to run in this type of stuff.

$38,000 on booze, drugs, women and gambling, $2,000 on tires/sauce

So 5th round starting, track gets faster with each lap that is put on it.

The later you run the faster you'll go. Should be interesting.

The tires come off as mudd balls. The puddles are all gone as they pushed the start back slightly to help improve conditions. But its tough to drive consistently. First run I think fast lap was 31-32 seconds, 4-5 runs later, its in the 29s-28s range.

In the end it discourages some to make the trip all together (and probably forces some teams to trim down their rosters). When it was announced Japan would host the 2007 Off-Road Worlds I think many hoped it would be in historic Yatabe Arena just like in 95'.

Surprisingly, I asked Masami what he thought about the Track while at this year's Hot Rod Hobbies Shootout and I was amazed when he said he had never Raced there?!
Take it Easy and hope your retirement isn't too permanent.

Ish

By the way... Cool to see 4WD Racers outnumbering 2WD Racers for a change!
Sorry, apparently he has never RACED there before

He didnt even run the Worlds Warmup race at the end of '06

Well, this is one racer that won't race in the rain or wet condition. I've been there and done that, not fun. At the World's it would be worth it, but not at a local or even regional race.

Talking to Truhe right now, kinda sucks, he said he ran well but the track was still pretty bad for his last qualifier, so kinda doubtful for TQ of that round, would have been awesome to see him TQ the worlds..

Unfortunate the track will not be consistent throughout the last round. Will really give an edge to those running later.

Looking forward to seeing the A line-up! Hope Pavidis makes it. Good to have some chassis variety.

Thanks to Charlie for the great updates and pics. Keep it up!

Cheers,
Scotty P.
