Yep...LOL...I usually don't give a crap about these races, but this one actually seems pretty fun. It's like "Dirty Jobs" meets "Survivorman" and they're both driving mod ("mud"?) buggies.

Not Masami's home track, Yatabe Arena is his home track. Apparantley, Masami has never even been to this track.

I find it VERY difficult to believe that Masami hasn't been at this track before, or any track in his own Country.... esp considering the years of racing under his belt.

Do you think Mark Pavidas has raced at every track in the US? In California?

Hey guys, for the record Masami was here not long ago practicing. Not only that but he left his stuff in the pits over night (there is security) and when he returned his equipment was strewn throughout the mountain and covered in bite marks. There are crazy ninja monkeys (as hara described them) that live in the forest that came down during the night and destroyed his pit. Every now and then a speaker in the forest fires out a gun shot sound (which indicates a bear or other large animal is in the area) to scare away the local wildlife. Its been an amazing trip and despite the rain its one of the greatest experiences many of us will ever have.

Smile 2007 worlds

hey all:Got a few questions and a comment about the worlds. My comment is looks like something new for the usa drivers racing in the rain and mud cause we don't do much of that in the states.Next are there any drivers there running only one class or are all running both 2wd and 4wd classes? Finally does anyone know what percentage of drivers are using brushed vs. brushless motors and has the muddy track not given one type of motor a clear atvantage? Thanks for the info

JBL is a sponsor of some of the top Horizon Hobby/TL drivers. They are working with Horizon Hobby as apart of a cross-promotional campagin.

the security must have been napping while they were 'monkeying' around with his stuff....

and how many tracks are there in the USA compared to in Japan?

100:1 ratio perhaps?

home advantage??

wait till next year when the worlds at the farmII, the amercans will be camping there and setting up home next to the track

not to mention specifically building a track that suites the americans more than the europeans.

masami dont need home advantage, he will be fast no matter where and what conditions

Approximate Size of Japan: 145,840 square miles
Approximate Size of California: 163,707

Has Pavidis raced at every track in the USA - no. Has Pavidis raced at every track in California - no.

Would Pavidis go practice at a track in his home country where the Worlds are going to be held before the event starts - you bet yo azz he would. And I would also add that Mark has probably been to every track in California worthy of holding a World Championship, certainly not all the little club tracks. But I am just speculating.

I heard before last years On-Road Worlds Masami spent weeks at the track testing every possible tire/sauce combo. I heard he spent over $40,000 preparing for that race. Not sure I believe it was that much, but my source was at the race and is a factory racer.
