Default Where does Rick Hohwart go next?

I want to inform everyone on R/C Tech that I no longer work, race for, or have anything to with Team Orion/Peak Racing. If you have general questions or those relating to AE cars, please post them in the appropriate threads in the on and off-road forums or PM me directly.

I will still continue racing for Team Associated, but will now use LRP speedos, LRP BL motors, and Reedy batteries.

I'd like to personally thank everyone who supported me and Peak Racing in the past. I started the company way back in 1985 and without my loyal customers and sponsors, I would have been out of the R/C industry long ago.

R/C cars are my life, and I will continue working somewhere in the R/C industry. I am just not exactly sure where at this time.

Good luck Rick.

perhaps you could start your own hobby shop with a good on-road and off-road electric track. I hear they are in need of a few in California...

Default rick hohwart leaves peak/orion

hey all:Sad news so why the split rick?I'm thinking since rick is an AE driver he can go work for lrp at AE so we can get more and better access to lpr products in the usa?I'm talking brushed and brushless electric motors, batteries, gas engines not just speedos and chargers. Finally i think rick will still be the "man" with the wheel no matter what he's driving.

My GUESS is that Rick got caught in the middle of the purchase of Orion/Peak. As an AE driver under a contract that he recently entered into he was caught with a hard choice. Im shure that Kyosho would expect him to run their products and that would violate his recent contract with AE or face conflict of intrest. Then came a huge decision........ Break the contract with AE and stay with Kyosho/Peak/Orion or ........ Start fresh. I think he made the right choice. I have watched something I have worked so hard for get changed by new ideas and leadership. Not to say new ideas are bad but it is hard to deal with. Same situation as Losi Jr. Rick's formation of Peak is now twice removed. Each time more and more of him is lost. It is time for a new start. Good luck Rick!!!!!!!!!

My other guess is that the Peak brand will now go away and Orion will be the brand of electronic items from Kyosho. Sad to see!

Was wondering why he recommended LRP motors in another thread...Rick has always been a favorite RC personality of mine going back to when Peak first started out . Hopefully you made out well and best wishes on your future endeavors!
