mugen MST-1

Try your local hobby store to purchase the Mugen MST1. I don't know of anyone running one though.

I got one and love it. Hop-up parts are hard to get but not really needed. New springs, hubs, and axles are supposed to be available now but haven't saw any yet. Great kit as it comes with an awesome pipe and engine if you like. Your LHS should be able to order one for you.

The truck is a pile of garbage out of the box. You must upgrade many parts of the truck to even be able to compete with it. You cannot get shock springs, shock pistons for the truck yet and it has been out for over a year now. I made the mistake of purchasing 2 of them one to run and the other for parts. I had so many parts break it wasn't even funny. I broke a clutch nut even I have never seen that before. The truck did handle fairly well but the plastic is so crapy the truck is sloppy as a whore in less than a 1/2 gallon of fuel. I sold both of mine on ebay just to get rid of the headache and now run a ftgt at least I don't have to worry about no team support or no needed parts. And did I mention the axle breaking part of the truck I had one day where I broke 6 axles. The truck is so crappy that now the main distrubutor of the truck has now droped it from its lineup and many places that stock parts for it have them on a very reduced price because they are trying to drop the mst from their store. exe www.nitrohouse.com

I really enjoy my mst-1. I've got about 2 gallons through it and its holding up great. Much more durable than my XXX-NT was. Yep no springs to be found but the losi spring aren't really too much of a headache to put on. Still if you are worried about parts support I would look into a Losi or Associated as it is just plain easier to get parts for those trucks. But to answer your question, yeah folks in the U.S. are running and enjoying their MST-1's

That's good to hear. I've only heard of one bad report and that was from KINGZJ. All reviews in magazines from both the US and Australia have been very positive. As for springs, I have a vast array of old 1/8 scale buggy springs. And, I'm led to believe that these should be helpful because the MST-1 shocks are based on the 1/8 scale MBX-4-RR-XR series. Parts will not be a problem in Australia, as our Mugen importer is a fellow racer. I look forward to hearing all your setup tips and tricks in the future.
