I am looking for a good setup, or place to start with my B4... I have not been able to find anything I like.... The track is big (1/8 scale gas and Truggy) it is hard packed with loose stuff on top... traction is low, gets water but it is gone before it gets put down (heat and wind). The main problem is rear traction. The front turns good, but the rear just wants to come around with it.

Anyone have a good setup sheet they can post ?

are you running an oz of weight under the rear bulkhead as well as a 1/4 oz in each rear corner of the chassis? that makes a big difference on the cars rear traction.

Start with the 2005 Worlds set up. Our track are like the ones you describe and that set up is very good.

Go to No. 1 pistons in the rear with 25 or 30 wt shock oil and green springs. I have to do it here b/c we have so many 1/8 and truggies running even the drilled No. 2's won't work. No limiters in the front shocks, and shocks unthreaded b/w 1 to 2 turns. If the rear is loose in, try adding some camber to the rear tires, I think I ended up running about 1.5 deg this weekend. How much antisquat are you running? Tires would beb the other thing to check, be sure you have the same tire/foam combo as the guys who are running well.

I would say start with the worlds setup, and go about 2.5 to 5W lighter in the rear.

I ran on a track similar in conditions, Worlds setup exactly as a starting point made the most difference. Especially the antisquat changes.

Also, Check your throttle control. Exactly when is the rear coming around on you?

As for tire setup, you may want to keep in mind that what may work for the Losi guys may not work for you on your B4.

See what you have to do in this situation is follow the Associated guide to setting up your B4. Start with the worlds setup, basically the only setup to run. Put Team Losi Big Shots on the rear with stock foams. Now comes the tuning. If the rear is loose add weight. If the car pushes, add weight to the front. After these hard tuning sessins the car will be good. And that is how you setup a B4. Just make sure whatever you do, do NOT change your locations. If you do it will bring on the end of days. LOL

Naw, The worlds setup is a good place to begin. I would put silver springs on the rear. But the big shot is a great tire. The rounded carcass lets the car be more stable in rutts and bumps that big outdoor tracks produce. Play with ride height too.

bigshot is an excellent tire.

If you find you are having more variances in the surface, you could also try a proline step-pin and use losi foams in them. I have tried this setup as well and when the track condition went from hardpacked but no fluff on top to fluffy or broken up, they came through the best.

As for the 1/4 weight on the rear sides, do you have a pic of this and does it apply to the T4 as well?
