Sphere Comp '07 vs Sphere Comp '07-TC
I am waiting for a Sphere Comp 2007 to be in stock but I noticed the TC version is available and did a comparision.
The major difference says the Normal Sphere Compy input voltage max is 8.4 but the TC Version is 7.2 does this mean you can't run Lipos on the TC version?
thx

I doubt it it has a lipo cut off

The tc version has a voltage range of 4.8v - 7.4v and the normal comp has voltage range of 4.8v - 8.4v. That doesn't mean you can't run a lipo with the tc version, but it does mean you can't use a 7 cell NIMH pack with it.

Thanks, I found out their Chart is wrong on the website, but reading the manual shows 7.4 cut off. So it should be fine yay. Even other websites have 7.2 as the cut off which is also wrong.
I guess the next question is for my 4wd offroader wouldnt this be a better system to get with the built in fan, etc? I don't need up to 3.5 but the larger wire guage and cooling would help any situation.

The tc version probably is a better deal because it looks like it comes with the heatsink and fan from the brushless worlds option set (82700) and it comes with 12 guage wire. I have that heat sink and fan on my normal comp so the speedo basically cost $189 whereas I could have just gotten a tc version for $169. I sure hope there's "something" about the tc version that makes it less suitable for off-road. Otherwise, you just made me realize that I wasted $20. Oh well, that's not the first time and it won't be the last.
