Default 1/8 tire application

Is there some sort of tire application chart out on the net? Something that describes what type of tire to use during certain track conditions. Something that may describe the effects of short and long knobbs, compounds and tread designs.

Losi also has a tire application guide for theirs.

Once you look at each of these tires, see why they recommend what they do, you can make a good guess if you use any other types than these.
