Yup, I've only had two flame outs, both were from Radio running me out of fuel. I'm on my second glow plug. First burnt out in burlington when I was playing in the mud, I didn't tune the engine for the extra 10 pounds of mud on the buggy. I can't blame the plug for that. So if it means that tunning like a "heli" keeps me from dropping out due to flameouts, so be it....

seriously though, 20 or 30, even 15 minute mains are awesome. you never know when the guy pulling away has a bad wreck, or flames out, or whatever. You always have a shot, that's gas racing. Even if you qualify 18th in the D main, you have just as good of a chance of bumping up to the next main as the D-Q. To me, that makes gas racing that much better.

and re: breaking stuff - I know i'm probably setting myself up for disaster - but i've broke 1 thing on my 8ight this year. And i should have destroyed it with that one head-on collision at the 2nd Series race at Rat, but all it did was knock the setscrew out of the front input yoke. I broke 5 (five) out of 5 (five) runs at Mhor last wednesday in 2wd Mod. Not saying that it wasn't my fault, but weighing my options - i had a lot of fun being able to have the time to call the races at Rat, and not have to continually wrench on my buggy. my driving coulda used some wrenching, but that's another story...

I'd agree with Lars. Weds night I broke 2 arms, front and rear shock tower, and went threw a set of tires (4) on my wheeler. Gas is cheaper to run for me.
