Default Lipo Charger questions

I just have a few questions about Lipo..
First are there any good reads to learn about the batteries themselves.

secondly what is a good charger for these.. something dependable.. up to 150$
and thirdly.. Is it worth it..???

Here are my guidlines
-Always charge at 1c (ex. 3200 Li-Po charge 3.2amps or 4800 charge at 4.8amps)
-whenever you feel your battery start to loose any power, pull it off teh track and cahrge it soon as possible(this should be around 6 volts.) You can buy a Li-Po cutoff.
-always use a Li-Po charger, The best all-around charger is the Duratrax ICE

The best lipo charger is the astro flight 109. The ice is a good all around charger if you are still going to use nimh cells and such, but the astro flight is the best lipo charger. The astro flight will peak the cells w/ a little more juice and do it faster then the ice will peak the cells. Typically the chargers will peak the cells at 8.4 volts and the 7.4 volts is the nominal voltage of the packs. All of the chargers will peak the packs to 90% charged at a 1c rate, and then they will slow way down for the final 10% of the charge. I guess the simple way to put it, it will take 50 minutes to 90% peak a dead pack and another 30 minutes to deliver that last 10%. The packs are worth the investment.

The balancer just keeps the cells in the pack at close to the same voltage. This way there is less risk of overcharging one of the cells in the pack when charging the pack. Performance wise you will not be able to see the difference.

is there a difference between lithium ploymer, lithium ion, and lithium manganese? besides the obvious chemical makeups.
