Support is the main thing.
What's up at the track near you?
If they have a hobby shop near by, or on site, you may wan't to see what they sell. Part's availiability can become very important with off-road.
I'm a Losi guy, so I say CR. As long as you can get the parts real easy.
Or get the AE. As long as you can get the parts real easy.
Merry X-mas sir.

I've never driven a losi buggy, so go B4!!
I'm in the minority by running AE stuff in this area, everybody has Losi's for some reason. Both are good cars. The only thing that I know about Losi's is the tranny seems to be weak. I have seen several melted or broke diffs. I think it is the gray tranny.....I believe that problem is fixed with the new CR. I've never had any problems with my AE tranny's running mods.

I am in the minority at my track...everyone has the B4 and I have the CR (my daughter has the B4). I hear that the clay here in the Indiana is really good for the B4. What is the surface like where you are and how easily can you get teh parts you need. I don't think you will go wrong with a CR or a B4.

I like the B4 because the trany. is very smooth and quite. Plus it seems to handle threw bumps smoother.

Just get either one and stick to it ....
Buggy`s rule and will always be your best ride...

to answer the question.......here's a very short version of the differences between the two brands/cars. generally speaking.....VERY generally speaking......the losi has rear end traction.....the b4 doesn't. the b4 has mega amounts of steering input....the losi....not so much, however, with the losi, you can dial steering into it. with the b4, it's a little more difficult to get it's rear-end planted than it is to get the losi to turn. i've owned both and speak from MY expreinces with the cars.
IMHO, the losi would be the better choice for a newbi.....it's more forgiving and easier to drive fast.

but in order to get easy rear traction w/ the B4 i know of alot of people adding 1oz on the rear chassis brace, you'll have to dremel away some plastic in order to get the whole once depending on the size you glue on there......
dont get me wrong no matter what buggy you get they are both very competitive, and you can make either one fast!!!!
merry xmas to all!!!

are y'all nuts? the traxxas bandit owns!
one look at its MSC, and you'll say "wow".
try to race it at the track, and its different from the others...
you cant beat the performance of a bandit!
jk, i'd agree that both the b4 and cr are quite simular, but different in unique ways. i'd go with the brand thats most supported at your LHS. with jumps, other cars, and walls/barriers, you WILL break parts every once in a while, especialy front arms. if you really cant decide, flip a coin. lol
good luck. Merry Chrismahonaka.

Like everybody else said, go with what your LHS supports (unless they are a junk store and dont support either!). Both are very good cars, goto your local track and see if you can drive some people cars. Try and test out guys who are good racers cars though, if you try out a car with a bad setup it wont help you make a desicion at all.
