Anybody else going to go and try to race in this class?

I am trying to get together a trip now!

OK Brushless/Li-po Racers!

Here is your chance to show the world that li-pos are safe and brushless is the route to go with hardly any maintence with a 20 minute main that so many went to gas racing for those long runtimes. Now you have the best of both words with the ease of brushless/li-po electric and the long runtimes like gas!

This maybe what might respark interest in electric off road racing again!

I am trying to make arrangements to attend from the East Coast! Who else is going to race there in this class?

I would think this could be an opportunity for the Lipo retailers to show their support. Perhaps some representation at the nationals and some packs for people to borrow to race in the new class (They could bring some specs and guidelines for rules and perhaps ROAR could use the batteries afterwords for samples).

When ROAR creates rules for lipo, I hope they elect to keep the same minimum weights for the different classes. Lighter cars will require newer softer compound tires (which would wear faster because the cars are traveling the same speed) to regain the same traction as before. The reduced weight of the car creates a smaller contact patch on the tire (hint: try softer inserts with lighter batteries). The car manufacturers could use the weight savings to make parts stronger to last through longer races in the future.

The top 3 at the last ECNS race with a 20 minute main used the Novak GTB with 5.5 motors geared according to Novak's recommendations for whatever truck is used. Usually it is either a 14 or 15 tooth pinion with the stock spur gear.

I even take my fan off of my GTB. It is not needed!

We have found out that if they don't thermal in 10 minutes they will not thermal at all!

This is great news. Glad to hear the Roar has added this great and fun class into the main stream... even as a demo class. I have been running this class (Pro Truck, BL/ Li-Po) for over 3 years now here in the Carolina's and it's great to see this type of class grow even bigger.

Now let's see if I can make it to NM in a few weeks... . Road Trip...

Wow! Great move ROAR! I think that this class could easily really take off and completely replace the old fashioned 5 minute races we currently have. I'm so glad to see this finally happening! Hope that the turn out for this very new exciting class is good! It would be really cool to see some of the pro drivers running it, mabye some of the guys sponsored by Orion (they have the batts and motors!) should definately go into this class to show it is viable as a real racing class.

Come guys! Here is your chance to sound off about this class even if you can't make it to the race to be heard. Dawn is listening and I believe they want to hear from you what you.....the racers want....so ROAR can give it to you!

Keep the post and the excitement coming!

Some of the Peak Battery racing guys were talking in another thread about hooking 2 of they're batteries together to get 9600 mahs for this race!

Don't have time or money to make this race, but I am very pleased by this move, ROAR. I hope it continues through the rest of this year and into next year's nationals and regional races. Maybe next year it won't be a provisional class but an actual class. hopefully it will also trickle down to 2WD buggy and 4WD buggy. Either way, great move and I eagerly await the results from this race. I feel this should be a very popular class. Good luck to all that will be attending. Make the rest of us proud. Keep electric racing alive!

I am sending my entry to you in the mail today and hope you decide to keep the race length like it is that really sets the class apart from all others. 20 minutes brings another aspect to electric with endurance and runtime bought into that makes this class unique!

We have been racing this class for over 3 years now here in the Carolinas and I will be there to answer any questions anybody has about this class!

I am hoping a couple more Pro Truck Racers from this area comes out to the race and I am hearing that several brushless and battery manufacturers will have reps there too!
