Default HPI firestorm vs XTM x-cellerator

so, its that decision time... i have the choice between two trucks, the HPI firestorm (169) and the XTM x-cellerator (130). i don't know if any one has had any experience of both, but i am tempted to go for the HPI as there will be more parts available at the LHS, and it is a well known company. the XTM has a much higher top speed (46mph as opposed to 38mph) and i think it may be 4wd...

any suggestions?

thanks,
Joe

I am almost sure they are both 2wd and very comparabale in price and performance. While top speed is an interesting statistic, it's almost useless except when running in wide open spaces or parking lots.

All things being just about equal, always opt for the vehicle with better local parts support.

i was thinking the firestorm had better handling, and thats more important than speed. and parts are definatley important. its no use waiting a week for a part you can buy in the shop down the road if you just drive a different truck...
