Kanai 2 Upgrades?

Ron,
Post your engine question at the s-grid off road column.....most of the guys that hang out there are off road factory drivers and die hard off roaders.

If this is your first 1/8 don't get a monster motor for your first one. I would go with a sport motor like the 5 port rb or the o.s. rg. both of those will have more than enough power to get you in trouble. I run a rb s7 europa with a 2 shoe clutch (I hate the alum 3 shoe that comes stock it is way to much trouble)
As far as K2 needed upgrades I personally think their are 4 that are needed.
1 front chassis brace
2 rear chassis brace
3 k-factory captured hinge pins
4 complete set of standard diff gears and pins (very cheap)
and if you feel you have money to burn a very good investment would be a new set of alum. front knuckles the stock ones wear out fairly quick.
Tires I would go with the panthers or the new knuckles crimefighters wear out way to fast .

Another question for you: Have you tried or seen someone use an
On-Road Motor on a buggy. If so, how was it performing?
Just a thought.? [/B][/QUOTE]
The WS7 was designed as circuit engine and has been world champion (with Kanai in 2000) and UK champion for the past 3 years. Ok, so Kanai was running a 4 port piston and liner, but you don't see RB telling everyone that...
You can easily spot people using buggy engines in the UK as they are all running 14/15 tooth clutch bells whereas the rest run 13s.
