Unhappy Head Bolt Stuck and BLOCKED!!

I was going to rebuild my Picco P7-R today. When I went to remove the head, the tip of my hex driver broke in one of the head bolts and it wont come out!! I thought they were hardened steel tips, but apparently not. I have replaced the hex driver already, but how can I now get that screw out and my head off?? The tip of the hex driver is blocking the way. Someone please help!!

Well...it depends...LOL...if it was me and I could get another cooling head for a reasonable price, I'd just bust the fins off the head and unscrew the bolt it with small Vice-grips. But that's just me.

If the head is $$$, then that wouldn't be such a good plan. You might be able to reach it from the side with some small pliers and break it loose. You might also be able to grind off the head of the bolt with a Dremel...again, from the side.

Thanks. I was actually able to get in the side with a Dremel and cutoff wheel. I cut the bolt head off and was able to remove the head after that. I used the cutoff whel again to make a slot in the remaining bit of the bolt and backed it out that way. Hopefully this wont happen again, but at least I'll know what to do if it does.
