motor alignment

i have a ofna lx comp and i am installing a new motor .directions show to use apiece of paper between clutch bell & spur gear. is it suppose to slide frelly or just tight enough were paper isnt cut from clutch bell?thanks for help.

A little more than just enough fo tthe paper to not be cut. You should be able to hold the spur gear still, and rock the clutch bell back and forth a tiny bit. It's called "setting your gear lash". ;)

i run the paper between the gears and roll the gears back and forth making the gear mesh as tight as possible without cutting the paper...
