I have a C6 in mine now but it worked great with the S5 & S7 as well. You need to consider what track(s) you will be running on.

RB WS7II x3 (same powerband as the newer WS7III) FAST engine, just a little low on the bottom end, but I like it that way as it results in less wheelspin. Soon to have a Ninja, but mainly for the 8T.

OS Vspec will give you the smoothest power and the most runtime when backed with and OS pipe. Amazing combo, I love my vspec in mine.

I am using an AXE Rossi Mamba in mine and really like it. Do not discount this motor because of its price. It has good rip off the bottom and decent top. Also, I hear the Cobra is one of the fastest 7 ports available. Both are readilly available without a wait at a-main hobbies.

don't tighten the steering servo horn by what the manual says - you'll likely strip a gear atleast.

The 8ight also doesn't like a fully aluminum clutch shoe setup, compared to most 1/8 buggies to my understanding (never had a 1/8 before the 8ight here...).

which pipe exactly do you have? I have the JP1, it's ok but not great on the top-end. I actually was thinking about switching to the JP2 or JP3...

Otherwise, enjoy the car. see the 8ight thread for more info too.

I use an all aluminum clutch setup and it works fine. Just have to use the right springs. I use gold and silver springs with my setup.

The JP2 will give the best topend with the JP3 being middle of the road falling between the JP1 and JP2 powerband wise.

Werks B7 Pro.
Even though i run it in my Hyper 8.
Put the 2013 pipe on it, and its easyly as fast as a Speed.

I am running a OS Speed 21VZ-B V-Spec W.C. w/ a OS 2050 pipe. Major rip and top end. It revs up really fast. A little too much maybe for some or on a smaller track. Still working on a clutch set-up for it.
I have run a Novarossi P5-X before w/ JP3 and a Ninja w/Ninja pipe before that. Both of these I liked, but not as much rip as what I liked.

Dynamite Platinum Series .21 with JP3 pipe is an awsome combo for the 8ight and 8ight T. Good smooth power and 8 to 9 minutes of runtime. All aluminum shoes with 2 gold and 2 silver springs.
