Alot of people run the Novak 5.5R in 4wd 1/10 buggies or even 2wd buggies/trucks and the 5.5R is 7400kv.

Cheers

But does the ESC by itself include the programing eq. as on Tower Hobbies website it says that it includes Castle Creations Mamba Max Electronic Speed Control with preinstalled 4mm motor connectors, pre-tinned battery leads, ON/OFF switch and universal receiver connector.
I looked on Castle Website and it doesn't mention it

Cheers

there is a cd with the castle creations software on it that you must install to your computer. then you can connect the mamba to the pc through the cable they supply

Yes... the usb cable and software is included in the box with every esc and esc/motor combo.

5700 or 6900 is plenty.. skip the 7700.

Run it on 6 cells or 2s lipo. (8 cells is the maximum recomended, that's all....)

The 5700 can keep up with a higher kv Novak or LRP easily... you just gear it a couple teeth taller. I run a 7700 in a 4wd buggy but I don't recomend it. You will be happier with the 5700, imo.

The other thing is that unlike the smaller Mambas (1/18th scale), the Mamba Max uses a standard USB cable, just like a camera or MP3 player. It doesn't have the special "dongle" on one end.

The motors aren't ROAR legal, but sometimes the track owner will allow them in big races. The last race I attended, he allowed the mamba max even after I told him it was an outlaw motor.

To be honest though, if you are a serious racer looking to be in ROAR legal races, you might be disappointed with the mamba because its acceleration isn't as smooth or consistent as something like the Novak GTB.

I read the manual and there is two wiring diagram - Reversing & High Power.
If using the Reversing are you going to have less power than the high power wiring?

Cheers
