a nitro buggy and a mini truck??? i think r/c car action has lost touch with it's base that started this hobby....or maybe they have a new base.

it seems 1/10 scale electric no longer exist in their eyes. i don't think i'll renew my subscription...i get tired a reading about nitro and mini stuff month after month, which makes up 90% of the mag's content these days.

i know, i know, many of you love nitro and mini's....and that's fine. i'm just venting my frustration with the lack of 1/10 scale electric off road information (glad we have the internet to keep us updated)...all i'm saying is 50/50 coverage would be nice.

Which is why you should get XRC instead. A magazine that doesn't even totally suck! Sorry about the off topic.

Not surprising that they would choose the 8ight for car of the year after all it is American and the first innovative 1/8th buggy in a long time that actually works.

Now the micro-t for truck of the year. What did that really contribute to the hobby, its a barely even a hobby vehicle. Sure its made by Losi so by default it is classified as "hobby" but how much of a hobby could you have if you just owned this truck, consider that.

4times - I find it more of a surprise that a race car was picked as "car of the year". I'm not saying that Losi and the 8IGHT buggy don't deserve that honor, but, and now more than ever, the hobby isn't really about racing anymore. There are so many "hobbyists" that don't have much of an intention of becoming "racers" that Car Action can and has devoted their magazine to reaching out to that much larger audience.

It's not a case of "selling out". Car Action is in business to sell magazines.

Wheelnut - You could scrounge up a case against any of the magazines in this industry for "totally missing the point". Everyone has their own reading preferences. They're all ridiculous in their own special ways....haha.

Your skepticism of the Micro-T sounds familiar, a common tone this hobby has heard a lot in the last couple decades. The T-Maxx? Haha. The Mini-T?

It may not set the hobby world on fire, but it could serve to get people into the hobby store. New people, fresh blood, potential long-term hobbyists.

I guess Losi won 5 awards in total.

Losi was recently honored at the RC Car Action Reader’s Choice awards with five separate awards. The 1/8 8IGHT Buggy (LOSK0800) was voted as reader’s favorite Nitro Buggy and the 1/36 Micro-T RTR (LOSB0230) was distinguished as the year’s RC Innovation award winner. Congratulations also go out to Team Losi Racing driver Adam Drake who was selected as Driver of the Year. Adam is a tremendous ambassador for the industry as well as Losi and Horizon Hobby.

The top honors, which are determined by editors of RC Car Action, went to Losi as well. The 8IGHT was selected for 2007 Car of the Year honors with the Micro-T winning for 2007 Truck of the Year. This is the first time in the history of the awards that the same manufacturer has won both Car and Truck of the Year awards in the same year.
