Did you get it used, or is it in an RTR? You should have recieved an Instruction Booklet with your purchase... ;)

I bought it from a friend and he trew out the instructions like a retard, I bought it with a blow connecting rod and since I am a machienest I cnc out a new one now I got it runnig but it runs at about 250 f at half way threw a tank. I was told it should runn about 200 F and dont know how to tune it

250 really isn't bad. As long as it's under 260ish, you should be fine. The largest and most prominant adjuster(should be sticking up and an angle from the carb) is the Primary Mixture setting. There should be a small one on the throttle side, that's the Bottom End, or Idle Adjustment. Clockwise is richer, counter is leaner. Richer is cooler and slower, leaner is faster and hotter. ;)

Sorry about the instructions comment, we have a TON of kids come on here, and ask for directions that came in their box...

i run my nitro's 220 ... what motor is it.. then we all can help you.. 250 at half a tank still left in it is to lean...

dose it have blue smoke coming out of it?

frizman 04-18-2007 02:15 PM

it is a thunder tiger pro.21R motor for the thunder tiger mirage. it is about 50 F outside here right now and that is were I have it running is out side. I have turned the screws slightly were the fuel tube goes in and the big one on the carb, I have not turned the one that ajusts the idle speed. the car is pushing out blue smoke upon start up and turns to white after the engine has been idleing through 1/4 tank after that the temp starts climbing. I dont know if maybe it is the cold weather being at 50 F that is making it run hotter or not.

give thunder tiger an email and call and see if you can get a manual. I think they also sell the engine or something similar at A-main hobbies.

ok here what i would do srcew the hsn all the way in ...then srcew it out 3-1/2 to 4 turn's .. is the motor broken in.. how many tank's has it had....

frizman 04-19-2007 10:19 AM

the engine has had 4 tanks threw it on idle so it should be broke in

lean the bottom end 1hr (the one on the carb body)
richin the top end 1 hr ( where the fuel line plugs in)
and go from there and see what your temp is and let me/us know ;)

Help!

Any ideas on this?
I was removing my carb and broke the back side of the lip or the flange near the bottom. The lip is just below the first oring. Anywho I have a Race Saturday and I'm wondering if cilicone will seal it ok until I can buy a new carb. Will it effect anything if I can get a good seal?
Thanks

frizman 04-19-2007 11:21 AM

I would think the silicone will work but I would use high temp other wise you might end up melting the silicone and letting it get into the engine.

I will try the truning the screws one hr.
