Default Dynamite Quickfire Starter box, Springs too strong?

I picked up a dynamite QuickFire starter box and I like its setup, but the problem I am having is that the springs that hold up the rear plate that activates the starter wheel are way too strong. I have to almost hop on the shock towers to be able to compress the buggy all the way down.

Has anyone else had this issue? I am thinking of swapping out the springs if possible with something else as right now gettings a killer workout getting the box compressed to start my buggy.

I just took the spring off the rear plate and went to the hardware store and found one that was similar in size and alot softer and both of ours work great now.

Was it the center spring that was really stiff of the two larger post springs?

The center spring was the only one I changed and it works great now. I bought a little stiffer spring for the 8ightT box than for the 8ight box.

Thanks for the info. I'll post on how it goes. What was the hardware store you went to?
